Black Isle Brewing Co is Scotland’s only organic brewery; pioneering craft beer since 1998 from their beautiful, wild - and sometimes wet - Highland home. Organic is at the heart of everything they do - believing in making great tasting beer using only natural ingredients, grown without the use of harmful chemicals. They care about seriously good beer, the environment and the future of our planet.
Save The Planet Drink Organic
Black Isle Brewery is a fantastic, passionate brewers based just north of here past Inverness.
If you’re up that direction for a day trip, they do a great brewery tour taking in their organic garden which in turn supplies their pizza bar in town.
Lots of clever thinking and delicious beer and they have fuelled plenty of Tipi Sessions in the woods.
We have a few of their newest beers available at the moment and we will bring in any seasonal batches they do too.
Blonde - Black Isle Blonde is brewed with German Hallertau and New Zealand Pacific Gem hops for a grassy, Germanic aroma. This continental style beer carries a hint of honey sweetness and floral ester notes, which balance with a dry, crisp, refreshing palate and biscuity finish.
21 Pale - . This is a golden, straw-coloured pale ale with a refreshing grapefruit aroma. You get the full whammy of the hops, and it’s a little hazy.
Spider Monkey - This juicy tropical IPA has notes of Pawpaw and Pineapple.
Goldfinch - bursting with citrusy zing. A multiple award winning beer, it's a light, refreshingly hopped session IPA, and comes with the added bonus of being certified gluten-free. Great news for coeliacs and all beer lovers alike. Pairs well with charcuterie meats and green olives
Porter - Dark roasted chocolate malts produce this dry, full-bodied ruby-black beer with deep notes of treacle and coffee. So velvety smooth it glides across the tongue like a mythical monster beneath the surface of a loch!
Most Holy Helles 440ml - Most Holy Helles is our first collab coming out of lockdown and we have teamed up with the stupendous Arbor Ales. We've dried hopped this Helles with a German hop called Ariana, the name of which has a Hebrew, Greek and Old English origin, and loosely translates as "Most Holy", hence the wacking great sword on the can.
Rhode Runner 440ml - A simple two malt bill with Nelson Sauvin and Simcoe hops in the kettle and dry hop, this is a Vermont yeast driven beer. Not a typical soft mouthfeel New England Pale, this has bite and bitterness in balance with the yeast.
Coco Van Porter - A cacophony of malts with a small amount of oats for the body and mouthfeel, alongside almost one hundred kilos of organic coconut and three kilos of organic vanilla. We’ve also put 400 litres in to rum barrels.
After the coal rush - A traditional West Coast DIPA; a big malty backbone to balance bucket-loads of hops. A traditional West Coast double IPA. There is No Planet B. That's it. That's the message.
Anyone seen my buffalo? - Wanting to warm your cockles on a cold day? This barrel-aged Baltic Porter will turbo charge your Walrus. Aged in Buffalo Trace bourbon barrels, this most peculiar of lager styles has been made with one thing in mind; opulent weekends in front of the fire. Or a Tuesday. The choice is yours.
